This weekend (3rd-5th June) sees the British GTs in the south of France - Pau.
Fresh from his exploits at the same circuit last weekend in TOK with Rick Bourne (Gentleman Drivers - 1st in Class 8th Overall) Keith is at least acclimatised ! Hampered by a lack of rear-end grip at Oulton and then engine maladies at Donington Team Aero are hoping for better things this time.
Once again I can do no more than quote from http://www.Dailysportscar.com (so good I've just renewed my subscription - especially with La Sarthe coming up).
"On current form, the main opposition to Trackspeed’s ambition would appear to be the #96 RPM Porsche of Alex Mortimer and the rapidly maturing Bradley Ellis. However, there was just the hint of a Morgan recovery at Donington and Keith Ahlers will no doubt be keen to show the expected large crowd just what his Aero 8 is capable of (on what is arguably the Jersey-based driver’s ‘home’ track). Ahlers and Oliver Bryant in fact have a big advantage over the rest of the field in that both drivers have previously taken part in the Grand Prix Historique de Pau and thus have actual recent experience of driving the circuit."
More news later in the weekend - Qualifying Sunday/Monday Race Monday.
Good work guys (I bet Billiy and Jack are hot !) - it's great to see the name Morgan Aero 8 in amongst all the Porsche 789s or whatever they're called.
Fantastic job Keith - Congratulations ! - to you, Ollie and of course Billy & Jack.
I'll post some details from Dailysportscar once they publish their reports - they're a bit preoccupied with some endurance race in central France at the minute.
