Re: SPA 6 hours 2012
Dan Lee,Jonathan Edwards and scribe in Dan's lovley Morgan preped by Chas.y..
The sun shone!
We "campered" (yuk) in the shopping centre with the morgan boys n girls.
Jerry Knight 2nd in Barry's race. Russ mcarthy was quicker but got a drive through for missing his pit window so came 3rd.
Andy G 8th (hounded by will sargeant in Sarge's car).
6 hours was a war of attrition - GT40s and other exotica in the weeds all over the circuit.
6 hours without a single safety car period.
6 hours quali at back of field. We ended third (of four...) Keith/Billy/Christian won the class, - the alfa dnf) in Eau rouge trophy (the class they made especially for Keith?) after 99 laps.
Podium! Adoring fans! Cheap fizz! Fabulous!
Lola T70 was the most amazing brute of a car I have had the pleasure to race - 160 mph on the straight bits (too timid in the corners but it's not my car and that’s the excuse I'm sticking to) . Lost only one place cf the owner in my stint and brought it home with a scuff of paint on one of the massive tyres so I'm a happy boy (and so is the owner).
Mind you, my best was 2.51 (owner 2.40) and olly bryant does 2.28 in his.
Stats here: http://www.ris-timing.be/v2/spa-six-hou ... september/
Oh and SOG's lovely red SLR is no longer lovely ( lost it big time at BM2 but he is fine.

Re: SPA 6 hours 2012
Thanks Tony - a little bird told me you were in a T70! Hence my added interest!
Well done to you and also the other Morgan boys - especially young Will.
So sorry to hear about SOG and the SLR. Obviously pleased he is Ok but the car looked beautiful in Bob Bulls photos taken the week before at Goodwood.
Makes me feel a bit inadequate when I see Olly's times!
Cheers

Forgot to mention the rest of the Mogsport support team inc Pete mulberry. and Andy Green as team manager. Catering was great and moral support excellent too.

Re: SPA 6 hours 2012
I’ll buy you the Ray Davies single…
Looking at results the 2nd in class was the other +8 of Paul/Wells/Bourne ?
So all Mogs – they’ll scrap the Eau Rouge class ?
And is that lap time for the Sarge car correct – under 3 mins – presumably by Sarge junior ???
I suppose there was no time for the funfair and karting ?

Like the racing footwear Tony - no wonder you go so fast...
Perhaps you had just jumped straight out of the T70. I understand they are standard footwear!
Cheers
