Bentley Drivers Club Meeting
Bentley Drivers Club Meeting
Definitely my favourite meeting of the year, such a great atmosphere and proper racing all done in the best possible taste.
I have made a start on the more than 700 pictures I took and the MG, AC and Morgan race is now on the usual site, well the Morgans anyway!
Many thanks to Tracy and Brian for their hospitality, which as many people noted was the main reason for my attendance at the event in the first place!
Good to meet up with friends old and new, (I was suprised to find that their are two singletons) Hi Robin and Eddie nice to put faces to names at last.
I will have more to say on the events later but for now I hope you enjoy my photographic efforts.
Cheers,
Bob.

Re: Bentley Drivers Club Meeting
Good to see you again on Saturday Bob. It is a wonderful meeting - it is not only the quality of the cars, both on and off track, but the people too.
Great photographs too - I like the ones of me in the black car with Philip framed in the shot in the red car!
Do you think you took so many because the sun actually shone and it was dry all day which I think was a first for a race meeting this year. It was certainly my first!
Look forward to seeing some more...
Cheers
Mark

Yes indeed Mary, I have processed them and they should be available for viewing later today, first qualifying and then the race. Were you competing? [-o<Mary Lindsay wrote:Yes they are good Bob.

Hi Bob
Great to see you on Saturday. Yes indeed the Bruv also attended, representing the Morgan manufacturing facility in the north. Another +4 Coupe about to emerge soon!
This was my 40th consecutive year at BDC, so stayed in a local hotel and celebrated. Many happy memories from previous ears, including the supercharged +8 of John Mac that took all the honors for some years!
Great to hear of your recollections from the 1950's...a golden era of motor sport.
All the best

Bob, did you perchance get a snap of me spinning at Luffield? or did you not have a slow enuf shutter speed?
ps , ok kevin fletcher may have been only "acting fast" at the silverstone classic celebs race , but does that mean I am "acting as a racing driver?"

I thought you were aiming at me! Luckily I was so scared I accidently kept my finger on the big red button, thus capturing your Gold Medal winning Rythymic Revolving Routine. The results are uploading as I speak. Click on the Sky Drive link at the foot of this post.
Mind you it may not be the most embarrasing photo of you I have in my portfolio
Foggy.

Do take a look at the picasaweb site for more revealing pictures from the Paddock.

Re: Bentley Drivers Club Meeting
I cannot personally vouch for the truth of this, but I was reliably informed by one who should know, that all three members of one family spun at Brooklands Corner during the course of the meeting. The people concerned were not named, so I shall have to study the programme to see if any particular name appears three times in the entry lists, but surely it unlikely that all the members of the family can be so inept?
Perhaps is best if you do not place too much creedence to this scandalous rumour, at least until proof is brought forward to support the contention.
