Hi,
I've purchased a new helmet for the 2010 season, without hans posts because I thought I wouldn't need it, then suddenly my Dad bought a Hans Device that we are going to share at the sprints and hillclimbs, I have bought some Hans Posts, but don't know how to fit them or who fits them.
Can Anyone help.
Cheers
Jono

Re: Hans Posts
Jon- won't be valid to use in competition unless the HANS posts are fitted by the helmet manufacturer- you will need to send it back to them .

Thats not strictly true John . Ok for MSA but not FIA .john bevan wrote:Jon- won't be valid to use in competition unless the HANS posts are fitted by the helmet manufacturer- you will need to send it back to them .

As Chris says depends what helmet as quite a few are pre drilled and filled with little plastic plugs. It is crucial to have the posts in the right place so drilling the helmet is not advisable . Experience says its cheaper to buy another helmet than returning to some of the manufacturers .
If its not predrilled ask the company you bought it from.

Re: Hans Posts
Hello Jon,
Jerry is correct to say that, unless you are entering FIA sanctioned events, posts fixed to the helmet by other than the manufacturer will be acceptable to MSA scrutineers- so I was told by GPR at Silverstone.
Next time you're home borrow Dad's car and go to Demon Tweeks at Wrexham.
Good luck

Re: Hans Posts
Arai fitted my supplied posts into my pre-drilled helmet and applied the FIA sticker (you never know, you night want to do SPA...) for 100 euros.

Re: Hans Posts
Presume you don't "Have to" have have Hans for Fia, (or do you) but must have the right stickers for a Helmet with the posts (so it will not have the right sticker if running Hans unless done by the Manufacturers and they put the sticker on?
Ok for Barrys race with out Hans? Most people I say getting in and out of the 6 hours still did not have Han's helmets last year.
