Gemmer Box & Drop arm wanted

Post by Dave Leach »

Hi, I dont know if anyone can help, but I need to upgrade my original steering box on my early plus 8 as after 38 years & over 80,000 miles its not upto my attempts at sprinting.

If anyone knows of a New & affordable (cant afford uncle melvins prices i'm afraid) RHD Gemmer Box & Drop arm either new or a good condition 2nd hand one from a left or rack & pinion conversion, please get in touch.

PS. any tech advice appreciated too, I take it i need to change both the box & arm, is there anything else required ?

Thanks & regards

Dave- I got mine from Heart of England Morgans. Might be worth ringing Harpers- apparently they have a lot of the bits left over from the Morgan dealer in Ealing that closed down.

Thanks John & Rob,
I have made a little progress, there appears to be a world shortage no Gemmer Drop arms, so anyone with one spare, for me to buy or even borrow, let me know.

Both Gee & harpers have been verry helpful & a second hand Gemmer Box & Bracket are on their way from Harpers, so once received & a Drop arm found, I should be in a position to sort the steering.

In the meantime any leads on Drop arms or even any advice or experiance on the viability of modyfying the original arm would be appreciated.
Cheers,
