Mallory Park 26th Dec 2007 - Boxing Day Plum Pudding Races

Post by TonyLees »

Anyone fancy this?
Just imagine Mallory in the snow - a nice change from the rain we had there this year...
Am reliably informed that the "Open Saloon/Sports" races will accept "anything".
See you there.
Cheers, Tony

=======================
The Midlands Centre will again run the "Plum Pudding" Race Meeting at Mallory Park on Wednesday 26th December 2007.

Competitors will be racing in front of one of Mallory's biggest crowds of the year, and will also see some two-wheeled sport as well!

The following classes of Race Cars will be catered for:

Caterham Challenge, Class 1, Academy Cars 1600cc
Caterham Challenge, Class 2, Graduate Cars 1600cc
Caterham Challenge, Class 3, Super-Graduate and Roadsports "B" Cars 1600cc
Caterham Challenge, Class 4, Mega-Graduate Cars 1600cc
Classes for Open Saloon and Sportscars - based on CTCRC regulations

The Entry Fee of £100.00 will cover one practice session and TWO races!

Tony – 26 Dec is Leicester v Ipswich footy so all those Leicester locals wont be at Mallory but will going to see Ipswich - the team that always wins at home but never wins away.

I remember going to watch a Brands Hatch Boxing Day meting in late 1960s and seeing all the Minis sliding off in the snow – until the meeting was abandoned.

Sorry – don’t think I’ll make it to Leicester for either mega event. Have fun.

I don't do races where they accept anything. Least of all your old bangers!

Actually, this is a brilliant idea to get some Morgans out.

Unfortunately I can't be there. The Jersey Old Motor Club have a huge car run on Boxing Day. Some 100 cars from 1904 to 1950 doing 50 miles round the Island. We will be in the three wheeler.

Best wishes, Keith.

Now that sounds like a *lot* of fun (no not the footy!).
Keith, can you think of a good way to persuade Jen to go to Jersey instead of Mallory?
only kidding.

For the record, you all missed a great day!
Weather was fab, crowd was huge (I kid you not).
Morgan did well against strong competition eg funny flat things with wings - sports prototypes and a moggie minor.
Great fun and a good way to clear out the cobwebs. See you next year :-)

No results found anywhere (mind you there was no timing anyway...) it was all very laid back - we were each given a christmas cracker at the driver's briefing, and told to wear the hat throughout!
when I say busy, it took Jen 45 minutes to get into the circuit; it was a bernie ecclestone moment!
Cheers for 2008, Tony
