Re: Where are they Now?
The competition number at BDC in 1978 would help a lot.

Re: Where are they Now?
Hallo Mary,
Eddie singleton promised me to come back as soon as possible, but after Wednesday. He has the photos of that event.
Let's see if this brings more light in the historical darkness.
Thanks for your help,
Machiel.

Hello Eddie, Machiel has shown me the pictures - Thank You.Mary Lindsay wrote:The competition number at BDC in 1978 would help a lot.
It transpires that the car was 'spectating' at BDC, Curborough etc. so perhaps an interested sporting owner rather than a competitior.

Re: Where are they Now?
Good morning Andy,
Pleased to note you received the pictures of the car via Macheil. Very much in road going trim when I photographed it. I would be interested to know if you have any idea of the date/year when the car was photographed with its hardtop/spotlights/mirrors etc and GB sticker !!
By the way, I live in the wonderful county of Lancashire.
Cheers, Eddie.

Re: Where are they Now?
I am trying to track down a very early TR2 engine number X540 once fitted to a 1953/4 Plus 4 but removed at some point early in its life before the car was exported to Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
Does anyone have any info on the engine or know where it might be now?

Re: Where are they Now?
I had a very enjoyable meal with Phil Brown in a very hot Perth W.A. As the beer and wine flowed the conversation turned to Hugh Braithwaite's article in Miscellany December 2019 - "Racing Holiday 1962". Hugh was racing his +4 5266 MM at Spa but crashed it. Despite this he was classified 13th and last! Great article BTW.
Does anyone know what became of the car, I think Mary may know, and Phil said something about it but the drink overpowered me!!
cheers
john

Hallo John
Good to hear from you! Well, the car is in Germany. Was at Assen in 2012 during the celebration of 40 years MSCC holland. The current owner is Klaus Weiss.
Hope this was a help,
Machiel Kalf.

Hello thereAndy Downes wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 12:50 am Hello All,
I've been hoping to resurrect this thread for a while and having just re-read all 16 pages !! here we go.
Does anyone have anything about 214 CTG a +4 standard bodied car ?
It has a proper LT Hradtop and the superports type bonnet scoop, perhaps a road car as it sports a GB sticker on the rear.
I will ask Machiel Kalf if he 's happy for me to post the photograph, it's a dark coloured car with a white hardtop, wire wheels and sports its registration number across the top of the cowl. Interestingly on the back of the photograph Machiel tells me it reads "Please return to: Lawrence Tune Engines Ltd, 69a Avenue Road, London W3...".
An early publicity shot for the pre-Supersports, LT-tuned +4 perhaps ?
Have Fun
Andy
I have just found this thread whilst looking for something else, 214CTG belonged to a very good friend of mine during the 1970's, and looking at the other pictures of the car , the first one with no bumper was when he first aquired it and the others were after it had undergone a rebuild. His name was Hayden Williams and he lived in coleshill warwickshire, the car was his daily driver for many years and he was an active member of the morgan club. I do recall at one stage the car was running a webber carb , the only photo i have of the car was at the ibcam motoring festival at the national agricultural centre , warwickshire in approx 1981 , Hayden then wanted a plus 8 so sold 214 CTG and it was exported to either Dallas or Texas , cant remember which. He then bought a plus 8 but never really bonded with it so went back to a +4 reg NUS57F which funnily enough ended up looking very similar to 214CTG.There is a picture of NUS57F on google , his nephew now owns it.

How many original Super Sports are still being raced and by whom? Are any contemporary photos or videos available?
Thanks, Larry .

Hallo Fred,
Good to see this car from the front. Do you think there is a possibility to let me know the chassiss number?
Maybe, even better, that the owner likes to Register this car at the Morgan Historic Register. There are no costs involved.
If the anwers is "yes", please, contact me at machielkalf@ziggo.nl

Maybe it's an idea to register this Plus 4 in the Morgan Historic Register. There are no costs involved.

Re: Where are they Now?
Hi Machiel sadly i dont know the chassis numbers of either cars , Hayden sadley passed away a few years ago, however after doing some research NUS57F was owned by his nephew who runs Langley Classics a small restoration company who specialise in triumph and morgan. As for 214CTG i can only assume it is still in the states somewhere .machiel kalf wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 5:48 pm Hallo Fred, do you know the chassis number of this car?
