Re: Where and When
I was there too – no alias. Third in class I was but the first in Class – Chris Cooke – had a ‘modsports’ car as you will see from his lap time close to +8 time
Re: Where and When
I received a Christmas card from a friend recently (well of course recently!), and he also enclosed the programme from that meeting. Apparently he had seen it in an antique shop in Norfolk while on holiday and thought I would like it.
I don't know how much he paid for it, but the cover price was 15p.

Re: Where and When
Hi Bob
Most interesting.
I used to meet up with Robin Gray at a friend's parties; it appears he was quite quick.
I cannot reconcile the lap time as being consistent with it being at Snetterton though. I have records of lap times at all the circuits current in 1964(OK 11yrs previous) and the over 2500cc GT record was held by Mike Parkes in a Ferrari at 1m 39.6s, 97.95mph! It could be that they used a shorter circuit than the conventional 2.71 mile circuit that I used to drive on but I was not aware that they had 2 circuits back then.
No doubt Mary or Leigh can enlighten us.
housie
PS I tried to attach the document but although I attempted to reduce the file size it wouldn't accept it saying the file was too big!

Alan,
You have to VERY SURE of your facts before posting anything on this site. There are too many PEDANTS only too willing to point out your mistakes, and humiliate you (well it happens to me a lot ).
To avoid them causing you any embarrassment I post a copy of the circuit lay out taken from the programme.
As we all get older the memory tends to fa ................................

Re: Where and When
Judging from the times written in the programme I would say we were on the 1.917 miles circuit.
Nice to see the proper names for the corners though - such a shame that some have been changed.
