Re: The way we were
To get back to Willhire I have now looked at the ten tenths chat – and you can see Mary’s name in posting for 25/01/11 as third place overall – I am sure she is too modest to point that out. I have some B & W photos from some of those races – including one of the remaining Mogs on the track followed by the ambulance carrying Mary after she rolled the car. And, as some of you may have noticed when lapping me, I still have my Willhire sticker on the back bumper of my +8. (My car didn’t compete although it was ‘cannibalised ‘ to provide parts for Norman Stechman’s leaving me somewhat stranded until Phil Brown helped me revive it when everyone was very tired on the Sunday evening).
Out of interest, with the 2cv races, Mary has possibly done more Snetterton 24 hour races than anyone else ? Must be approaching 10 ?

A gallant effort Leigh, but these things never stick to the subject, somewhat like Mary, they tend to come off track, however, I suppose that by bringing in the 24 Hrs, it does remind us that this is where the saga of 'Jack's Undies' first saw the light of day.Leigh Sebba wrote:To get back to Willhire
So to speak.

Re: The way we were
If it is of any help, I have a picture of Jack looking rather lecherously at a young lady (not me!) wearing an exotic and very short outfit at the 1984 Willhire pre-race press photo shoot..... He is in the middle of the trio, flanked by Brian Yates on the left and Phil Brown on the right. While we are on the subject of Hot Pants I wonder if you have any pictures of Mary wearin ......

She was obviously wearing her mechanic's overalls. Maybe Jack was just jealous that he didn't have such smart attire.

1981 Willhire 24 Hour Race: Bulldog Morgan team, 6th overall, Drivers of the Day.
Left to right: Mike Robson, Mike Duncan, Peter Garland, Mary Lindsay, Dave Saunter, John Lindsay.
The team poses for a photograph in front of the remains of Mike Duncan's Moss-box Plus 8 in which Dave Saunter came to grief only a few hours after Mary Lindsay inverted JEK, leaving just Mike Robson's car to finish the race in the capable hands of Peter Garland.
Re: The way we were
Mary,
Surely that is Eddie Jordan on the left of picture?
Being new to Morgan history may I enquire just how many times you have 'inverted' a Morgan?
Bob
PS; you haven't aged a bit.

Re: The way we were
The shirt isn't flamboyant enough for Eddie and I am sure he wasn't driving for us. Martin Brundle was in one of the Toyotas though.Surely that is Eddie Jordan on the left of picture?
So far only once, although I have had a few other skirmishes but in general the wheels stayed in touch with the ground.Being new to Morgan history may I enquire just how many times you have 'inverted' a Morgan?
I think I aged several years that day.....PS; you haven't aged a bit.
