Making Them Go
Why reinvent the wheel, this is what Jeff Sparrowe wrote.
Stub axles and half shafts comments still apply.....mind you, much of it still very relevant

Re: Making Them Go
I think the image needs re-sizing as it is not possible to read all of it.
John Orton was a great bloke and supplied me with a Coventry Climax cylinder once stove enamelled in pink!

Hi Mary
The article finishes abruptly with 'Corrojoint' - if this doesn't solve the problem let me know where it looks like it should show more words and I'll try resizing.
regards

Hi John,
The problem is that it is not showing the full width of the article on my browser, maybe it is OK for some but not others? Interestingly it shows full width when I view it in the preview pane but not in the standard view mode...

Re: Making Them Go
Probably caused by the resolution (particularly the pixel width) of your screen, Mary. It's fine here on a wide screen.
Maybe also give the hyperlink to the images John? Then Mary can resize as appropriate.

Re: Making Them Go
If you have done such a wonderful job of clearing the water passages in the block and flushing the radiator that your engine runs too cool you can fit one of these...

Re: Making Them Go
Hi all,
When looking through my photos and spares I noticed that my spare Coventry Climax engine came with a 1958 Lucas CJ26 40100E distributor (1940s Citroen 12 or 15) anticlockwise 13-15 degrees, and another running Series 1 in the UK is using exactly the same distributor, was this a recognised tuning upgrade, or just the easiest replacement for the pre-war 405496 distributor ?
Regards

Re: Making Them Go
Just out of interest I knew John Orton when I was a student in Birmingham and he stove enamelled various bits for me and was very generous, not charging for it and giving me a variety of spares including a tax disc holder, a carbon thrust ring and a radiator brace. He really was a lovely man.

Re: Making Them Go
I knew him too and he stove enamelled a cylinder head for me in bright pink which he thought would go well with the orange and black colour scheme my Series one had ~(and still has unless Jack has resprayed it).

"Jack got a pink cylinder head – surely not ?"
could it be he has it to keep in touch with his feminine side (attracts less attention than his wardrobe)?
