I hope those taking part in the Birkett enjoy their outing, as, by my understanding, it will be the last time the International circuit is used in its current form.

The redevelopment of the track (now they have secured MotoGP for next year) means that Becketts and Abbey change and Bridge disappears. See here for some details.

Presumably this means the GP circuit changes too. Now doubt our resident guru can give us chapter and verse...

I agree the information gives the impression that the International circuit is no more from 2010

But my understanding (no t too clear from the web site) is that many different variations will still be possible including what today we call the International

Chris,
In the abscence of 'our resident guru' perhaps I may be allowed to reassure readers that neither the International or Grand Prix circuits will change apart from some very minor re-profiling at Abbey. Essentially the MotoGP track is a new addition that, of course, uses elements of the existing lay out. Silverstone will now be able to run two licenced meetings at the same time as there will be sufficient separation between North and South parts of track.

Excellent, that sounds good.

I had realised that the new additions would allow more track variations (7 possibly?) but saw comments elsewhere which suggested that it was at the expense of the International circuit. Good news, if so, as it's one of the best variations.

This image may show the layout better than the Silverstone website one
