The Classic Motor Show is held from 14th to 16th November 2008 at the NEC near Birmingham.

See http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com for more info.

The MSCC has always had a stand and this year we have a much larger one that unusual (in advance of the 2009 centenary when we hope to have the largest stand of all). The theme this year is "40 Years of the Plus 8". I am still looking for volunteers to loan cars to display on the club stand and in particular:

1. A competition Plus 8 - racer or sprinter but 'distinctive' in some way either through appearance or history.
2. Late 1970's Plus 8
3. A 4.6 road car
4. A Plus 8 4 seater (I know of at least one)
5. Anything else of interest.

The car would need to be delivered to the NEC about mid day on Thursday 13th November and collected either late on Sunday 16th or before 12 on Monday 17th. Free tickets to the show are available to the owner.

If you know or have a suitable car then either PM me on this site or email to phil.egginton@gmail.com

That's fine Phil happy to help. It doesn't clash with either of the Drivers Dinners, or even The Morgan Lodge (which is the week before!)

Hi chaps and chapesses

I've taken over the NEC organisation from Phil who is otherwise engaged. If you want to help man the stand, please contact me.

Thanks

Not being initiated into the more arcane Morgan practices - I have to ask. BOTG is that Bottom of the Gird?

BOTG
That is Back of the Grid, the Back of the Grid Club is an elite and highly selective club. The late, great Graham Hill once remarked in an interview "You meet a much nicer class of person at the back of the grid....." when asked why he was near the back of the grid at Monaco.

Dave, we are keeping the tradition alive!

Thanks for that Mary, see you in November at the NEC.

Thanks also to those who have volunteered to help at the NEC.
Anymore takers?

You don't have to be an ex member you know, there is still plenty of room at the back for you and we would be glad of the company!

Thanks for the invite chaps. Until the Series 1 is back on the road (loads of money) I think I'll be sticking to the real mans motor sport of Classic Trials!
Blue touch paper lit, retires to a safe distance.

You are never far enough away to escape the clutches of a determined squad of fully paid up BOTG members Dave
