BDC 24

Post by Bob Bull »

I had hoped to be at Silverstone for the Bentley Drivers, however, age has caught up with yours truly, and after a couple of back problems, I feel it would be too much.
I first went to the circuit in 1952, and have been signing on as Media since 1978, so perhaps it is time to call it a day, and vegetate in rural Bedfordshire. I cannot see me getting to any meetings in the future, although if I can recover a bit of long lost fitness, I may turn up like the bad penny, if not thank you all for your friendship over the last eighteen years. I will miss you all,
God bless,

Bob.

Very sorry to hear that you won't be at BDC Silverstone Bob.

It won't be the same without you.

You are part of the fixtures and fittings...!

If you do feel up to it I will certainly have a spare ticket for you.

Cheers,

Mark

PS. I will be racing the 1952 Morgan Plus 4 Flat Rad you may have seen racing in the 6 Hour Relay Morgan team in 1952!

Bob, I am so sorry to hear that. You are such a familiar face at BDC, (and other tracks) it won't be the same. Hope you do get better and can find your way to one of our two remaining meetings this year.
You know you will always be very welcome.
Best Wishes
Philip

Hi Bob ... Very sorry to hear that you don't feel up to attending BDC... I was hoping to bump into you after many years away from BDC myself (my race Morgan will not be finished until next year - it's only taken over 10 years so far !) ;0)
But I will be there to support Sharlie present Philip's 'Driver Of The Day Award'... I will be racing my Crossle 5s in the Allcomers Race as extra practice for the Goodwood Revival... hope to see lots of you there.

P.S. Anyone have a couple of spare tickets available please ?

Thank you Mark and Phillip, I will miss meeting so many good friends, and my favourite meeting, such a nice place to be, Silverstone when the BDC is there. I appear to be pretty much mended and need to build up my strength again, so there is light at the end of the tunnel, may be next year?.

Matthew, what a surprise to read your post, as you say 10 years, and we have yet to meet face-to-face, I am sorry to have to disappoint you, but discretion etc, etc. Will you be back with 11MOG?. What race are you in, and what number, I will have my photographer on duty to look out for you.

Jack, how kind of you to offer the motorised scooter for my use. Would I be scared? Not arf mate, if you have prepared it I would rather drive the second works Lotus. :P
I will miss your grizzled countenance peering out from under a Morgan.

Good luck all.

Bob.

Come on Bob, can't you get one of those motorised buggies? :O:

You could terrorise the whole paddock as you zoom around!

We were thinking of going along to catch up with old friends.

Sorry to hear this Bob

If you are bored there is (I think) TSL live timing which even streams the commentary.

Wasn’t the Wurr car 99OK ?

No Keith or a Bryant this year ? What is BDC coming to ?

Thanks Leigh, I expect Keith and Olly must have read my post, and decide it was not worth turning up. :)

Yes indeed I was looking at the wrong picture, all the big red Morgans look the same to me. : 8-[

Hi Bob. Sad to hear you may not be venturing out for the BDC. Always enjoy catching up with you.
Take care and hopefully you will recover sufficiently to get to another round soon. Or BDC 2025!
Electric buggy sounded like a great idea...

Hi Bob, I echo Simon's sentiments. Take care, and good luck !

Matthew,
Surely that can't be the same Plus 8 I sold you all those years ago? Had I known you were going to neglect it, perhaps I should have kept it !!! Good luck with the Crossle, and look forward to you being out again in a Morgan next year.

And good luck to everyone racing at BDC !

Matthew, have you got tickets yet?
I may be able to help.

I have briefed Peter Olley, and Peter Mallett, to look out for number 99, and they may make themselves known.
