Jerry Knight
Very sadly, Jerry Knight, a long time supporter of Morgan racing, has passed away.
He will be greatly missed and our deepest sympathies go out to his family.

That's very sad news. I liked Jerry. I think everyone liked Jerry. R.I.P.

Re: Jerry Knight
Very sorry to hear the news of Jerry's passing. Such a wonderful, friendly and generous character. Will always remember him darting round the paddock on that mini-cycle of his, smile on face.

Re: Jerry Knight
Sad news, the last time I saw him him over a year ago he knew the score but accepted it in good grace. Remember the good times.

Re: Jerry Knight
Lovely man and true racing enthusiast
Always riding around the paddock on various bikes and offering advice/help to everyone
(Whether they wanted it or not!)
Was an absolute gentleman and a credit to Morgan and historic racing
I had the privilege of speaking with him every month during the last two difficult years
Last time in April when he was very poorly
RIP old friend and just get the paddock better organised (with Philip G) for all our arrivals in due course
Best wishes and love to Jan

Jerrys funeral will be held at Charing Crematorium on Friday 12 July at 12.30.
A celebration will be held afterwards at the Holiday Inn Ashford North on the A20.
Smart casual,

Re: Jerry Knight
I sent Jan a card and attached a printout of the messages (inc a couple of Bobs photos) and she replied by e mail '' Thank you so much for sending me the messages from the Morgan ‘family’ and the photos of Jerry. Everybody has been so kind. I will always remember the Morgan racing. It really upset him that he had to hand in his driving license for his last two years - he eventually got used to my driving!

Re: Jerry Knight
If my memory serves he also occasioned as safety car driver at some meetings.
Well said Andy. I recall a little coming together between You and Jerry. (was it Donington? Was jerry in a Jag?)

Re: Jerry Knight
It was MG Live in 2009/10 in a Thoroughbred race
I spun at Copse (all on my own) trying to catch Philip Goddard
The cars behind scattered as I was sideways across the track where I was collected by Jerry in his Jag
A big accident and we both ended up having concussion checks before being released by the medical centre
Both cars required complete rebuilds over the winter
But in the medical centre we gave each other a big hug and became close friends
Sadly due to my own health restrictions I cannot attend the funeral
Lovely man, Alex and I will be thinking of him (and Jan) on Friday

I have put together a small selection of photos of Jerry driving different cars, and paddock shots. Please feel free to pass the link onto any interested parties.
