Limits of the track

I have just found this on another racing web site:
You all might want to take a look at the proposed change to the regulations regarding the limits of the track.
If this is implemented, what it basically means is that if you put just a wheel off the track, you will be penalised....
It's basically what was almost introduced for this year at the behest of certain circuit owners / organising clubs.

Personally I avoid kerbs as I think they destabilise the car mid corner but some drivers like to use them.

my reading of this proposed change is that kerbs will become part of the track --unless otherwiswe defined.

the big change with this is that at the moment you are deemed to have left the track when all wheels have crossed the line , in future you will have left the track if one wheel crosses the line , and then , you cannot rejoin unless it does not impede anyone else to do so .

In my view off track I'd put some bl--dy big curbs in!!!! having said that did anyone watch the the Porsche races at the BTC Knockhill meeting this weekend on TV the curbs didn't put those boys off they hit them good and hard

Richard,
One of the Touring Car drivers who was penalised for exceeding the track limits at Jockhill claimed he should not have been because all of his wheels were in the air at the time!!!
Valid point?

Another example of the cavalier attitude of these foreigners to track limits, although I seem to remember the commentary advising of some cars being penalised for exceeding them.

"You cannot be serious. The car was not off". John McEnroe used to be just a tennis expert but after the Olympics he is now an expert in synchronised swimming, beach volleyball and motor racing. I think we will need a 'Hawkeye'.
