There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.
Come Gentlemen, seize the moment, take the tide and sail into Mary's good books, we seek not treasure, mere dross will suffice. Would you risk losing your ventures? Heaven forfend that Christmas morn dawn and your ventures no where in sight. Bold Sir Robin while far away on the billow finds time to cast a bottle upon a stormy sea and leave it's fate to wind and tide, with full hope that it's message, contained within, will reach the shore of BHP and thus publication herewith.
Jacques; When Will is forgot by men and history, I have no doubt that these words of whit and wisdom will remain in the annals and minds of future generations.
Reputation is an idle and most false imposition; oft got without merit, and lost without deserving

Well having tried to raise the level of our off season entertainment, by going for a Shakespearian theme, I feel it is time to admit defeat, and lower our aim to the navel level.
Thus we launch a revised tale taking up the suggestion of the estimable Jack, as the new production will be based on CHILDRENS TV SERIES.
I am certain that given the rich array of suitable candidates for various roles, it will be a triumph.
Cast members include;

A shoe in for the lead in Skippy The Bush Kangaroo.

An excellent Captain Scarlet.

Ideal for Camberwick Green.

Well! I'm still working on this one.

One for Jack. The Thunderbirds Are Go Team.

Er! Anyone remember Worzel Gummage?
More players will be added shortly so hold yourself in readiness. "It might be you!"

Hugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, and Trubb.?
How about the Flower Pot men?

Captain Pugwash.

A suitable candidate for the part of Aunt Sally is required.
All roles are unpaid, by the way.

My daughter loved Rainbow.

Bagpusss?

Positively Joe 90!!

We cannot miss out the Teletubbies.

I think we have found our Penelope Pitstop.

An old favourite of many, The Clangers.

And then naturally ....

... nobody would want to miss ...

... the ever popular Flintstones.!
Still many more parts still available, so don't worry if your name has not yet come up, there is plenty of time to go!

Our Member for Sheffield displays a breath taking array of literary skills, initially with a detailed summary of Shakespeare's A Winter Tale, and now a comprehensive cast list for The Clangers!
Peter! I stand (well sitting actually) in awe at the depth of knowledge stored in that raddled brain of yours.
But now to Mr Lees' comment. I think it shows very poor taste, or possibly possession of information of a confidential nature, to accuse Mr Rafter of 'pandering'.
Can we get back to the .......................... ooh heck! I can't remember what it is we were talking about.
* I refer you to Chaucer's Tales, should you wish to investigate the claim further.

I still have on my key ring a model of Captain Haddock (from Tin Tin) presented to me at Spa by ‘the Sarge ‘ many years ago when my beard was black and he thought there was a faint similarity

The Great Motor Race.
Chapter 1. Noddy sets Out.
It was winter, and the start of one of the toughest tests of man and machine was close, the race was due to start in Trumpton, and involved almost 1000 miles of desert sand, artic ice, primeval swamp, barren tundra, and hostile natives. Pre race favourite to take the coveted 'Challenge' title was Noddy in his yellow Noddy Car, who hoped to reach the finish in Toytown before Christmas. Stiff completion was expected from a number of Wacky Racers, as well as Jack the Lad in his Bellinger Special, a home made go-cart with a mossy old box as a seat.
Amongst the other entries were ......................?
