Look! I know I started it, so I must accept some of the blame, but you are all JUST SILLY, it must stop!
The words bottom and barrel spring to mind, if you can't add quality to the subject, at least don't add dross.
I was expecting better.

Have we wheely gone too far?
Are you tyred of the thread?
Have we driven you to distraction?
Should we make a clean brake from the topic?
And all this from (sliding) pillars of the club motorsport community.......

Re: The Season Draws to a Close
Well done JB, a sensible entry and clearly well prepared, unlike many of the entrants, who do not seem to have practiced and fail to qualify under the 7% rule.
Most of those who have started in this event, fail to keep up with the front runners, drifitng off line, and sliding into areas best avoided. A couple of regular members whom one might have thought would be out front setting the pace have become bogged down in a group of also rans, failing to rise to the Challenge.
Plus four more who have their heads in the aero, and are three wheeling like a crowd of Japs in a spin.
Let us hope that a better class of contributors can be persuaded to take part in the future.
Keep up the good work. The season is almost over.

Re: The Season Draws to a Close
I should point out that the Season is ONLY DRAWING to a close, and we still have the Birkett to go, and I would assume that there will be the usual torrent of Morgan Teams disporting themselves on the circuit. Any news of entries as yet, any odds being offered on who beats who and will Chris Aclam be replaced as spotter for the Green Team this year, following the 2009 debacle?
Having seen the correspondence on the Ancient Morgan section of BHP I wonder if we might not see 'Team Basketcase' make their debut this time, or maybe just a singleton entry? Should they decide to challenge for honours I expect all team members will be clad in anoraks, probably rescued from various skips and 'restored' by loving wives (partners, mistress's?), and of course the pits will be kept busy knocking up second hand items to replace bits that fall off during the six hours, possibly the same might apply to the cars as well!
With a bit of luck the estimable Catherine will be demonstrating her managerial skills again while Katy may well fire up the barbecue, and Kate and Mary will bring lots of sandwiches and cakes as well. All teams should note that it can pay to keep the International Media happy.
In any case (basket or otherwise) I look forward to seeing you all again.
Forza Morgan.

Re: The Season Draws to a Close
Sadly Bob I will not be there as poor JEK is awaiting a substantial rebuild after Mallory. I do hope that you find some sandwiches to sustain you and I wish all of the Morgan teams in the Birkett the very best of luck (especially Morgans for Fun).and Kate and Mary will bring lots of sandwiches and cakes as well.

Re: The Season Draws to a Close
Clearly I was geting confused, no suprise at my age, as I can not envision Mary Lindsay as the sandwich making type, and I certainly had some other lady in mind. Aplogies to any lady who may feel slighted in any way by my remarks.
However, Mary L I am sorry to hear that you are still forcibly pedestrianised, and that I will sorely miss your presence at the Birkett, as I am sure will many others. It does occur to me that Morgans appear to take a long time to be mended following damage. Is this because of technical difficulties, financial outlay, or lack of bits? After all McLaren mended Mr Hamilton's car overnight when he bashed it up in Japan, and they were miles from civilisation and the nearest branch of Bellingers.
I am sure that there is some wiseacre out there who will provide an explanation shortly.
By the way the Birkett always gets significant ccoverage on the local BBC Radio station.
Kind regards,
Bob.

Re: The Season Draws to a Close
I cannot speak for others Bob but we are going to do the repairs ourselves and for this you need time. I suspect that if Lewis had to rebuild the Maclaren himself it might have taken a little longer...It does occur to me that Morgans appear to take a long time to be mended following damage.
