On stand number 111 at the October 1961 Earls Court Motor Show the Morgan Motor Company advertised the "Morgan Plus Four fitted with the Super Sports Engine..."
The engines for the Super Sports specification Plus Fours were sent to Chris Lawrence's Westerham Motors in Acton where they were prepared to the Lawrence and MMC agreed Super Sports spec and then returned to the factory where they were fitted into a standard Plus 4 chassis.
The Plus 4 was then bodied in aluminium and fitted with aluminium wings. These were all what we now retrospectively refer to as 'high line' bodies. The factory also fitted an oil cooler in front of the radiator but behind the grill.
Cheers,
Mark
