Hi Andy,
Sorry - I did think after maybe I'd given the game away.
Tim only gave me details of FOJ's (Bill's) placings. Very interested to see/hear about the other cars/drivers competing though.

I used Robert Barker's 'Motor Racing at Goodwood' An Illustrated History, to sort out the background, this lists all race winners at the circuit's main meetings, but not the members meetings. If you have a copy you can see why I had problems identifying the year, when comparing various pictures of the chicane over the years.
Bob.

Simon - no worries
I will publish the full details eventually, Richard P and I wanted to share such a great shot and generate a bit of interest, you helped flesh in the bits about FOJ.
I am aware that there are still problems with the image disappearing and will get that sorted out

So we are missing the leading car and the car in 5th position.....?
my guess (and no more than a guess):
Car in fifth position has the pre 1958 high grille and the old style hardtop..... so could be the "old TOK" or maybe Peter Martin's car.....?
Leading car..... could be light blue high cowl car previously registered XRX 1....driver seems quite tall....could be Pip Arnold....?
Best wishes, Jochem

Right here again Jochem
One of the things about this picture is that the elevation is such that it shows clearly the higher 'standard line' tall-grille +4s and the lower 'lowline' 4/4 bodied +4 TOK SuperSports
So we're really left with the leader - another well known +4 and driver
Have (just a bit more fun)
Andy

Simply on the grounds that he has not been mentioned yet (ie: it is a wild guess) what about CJL in the original XRX 1?
Andy
PS Great photo , pity Santa forgot to bring me the book , maybe I will have to ask the birthday fairy

Good shout Andy (and Happy New Year !).
Sadly it's not CJL, which is a pity since he prepared most of the cars in the picture, including probably the TR !
There were 7 Morgans entered in the race but Jim Tucker was a DNS.
Richard Plant came by the picture (it is not in the Goodwood Book) from where I'm not sure.

Just because he has not been mentioned yet....Richard Shepherd Baron?
I agree with Andy that the car looks like the Monza style XRX without the bulbuous hardtop.
Best, Jochem

Andy, I have little (ie. none) knowledge of Morgan racers from the 1960's but as neither has anybody else I will toss in a few names from the period;
Terry Sanger
Chris Spender
Roy North
D Jones

I will add my lack of knowledge to Bob's not inconsiderable amount. How about Ray Meredith?
