While I am sure some 'clever dick' will soon put me right, as I understand it there are three SLR's exant, and possibly a 'Triumph' variation too boot, this being the case then any proposed nosh-up would inevitably end up with three/four different proposed venues. But do not despair Dear Leigh! I have the perfect solution for all of the disparate groups vainly endeavouring to organise a munch-up.

Clearly as they all post on the site, they are all computer literate (with the possible exception of Phillip T), so why not a 'virtual lunch'?

'All' the potential attendees have to do is to log on at a pre ordained time and sit eating their own choice of fare, and swaffing any tipple they care to, in front of their web cams and enjoy a thoroughly fine lunch together with their fellow Morgan drivers, without the inconvenience of travel, drinking and driving, sorting out a venue or even having to put up with each others beery breath. What could be better?

Of course Mr. S**** will have his nose put out of joint, being the prime mover in these affairs, but one could count that as a bonus!

By the way I am in the throes of attempting to arrange an annual Christmas Lunch for Journo's specialising in reporting on 'Morgan matters' for local radio stations, and I am finding it VERY difficult to find an agreeable venue/date/time. Have some sympathy.

I offer these ideas in a spirit of comradeship, and not to upset anyone (other than the aforementioned Mr.S.), and wish all who are affected. Hasta La Vista.

You see Bob us Morgan Plus 4 racers are a pretty convivial bunch and although your virtual lunch has merit I think we would miss the face to face interaction! Anyway I can't type as fast as I can talk about obscure Morgan related stories,facts and figures etc!

The Moss box Plus 8 hardtop saga in For Sale and Wanted is witness to that!

I rather suspect Mark that you have scuppered your best chance of successfully organising a +4 Jamboree, mind you after being asked to present the prizes for the TT some years ago, I have not been asked back, so maybe I over estimate my speaking skills.

I notice that there has been little activity on the 'lunch front' elsewhere on BHP, so the words 'tree' and 'barking' spring to mind, it would seem that conviviality is in somewhat short supply this year!
Perhaps it would be best if you just let the 'season draw to a close' and avoid embarrassment all round.

I expect the Embers will be of for a long sojourn in some exotic location, Richard, will of course be Westward Ho, JC will be always unavalable on any agreed date, and the threatened snow fest predicted by the Met Centre will undoubtedly deter the less hardy souls amongst the + Munchers from venturing far from their firesides.

I urge you to consider the evening after the BDC, when a reasonable mob of possible noshers may be persuaded to delay their journey home long enought o get totally swaggered in company.

Despite my grave misgivings I wish you well in your worthy endeavours to introduce a social aspect to the year.

Funnily enough Jack, I have been considering how to promote a more inclusive approach to 'lunching', than currently being postulated by the various factions within the Morgan ranks.

It all seems somewhat insular, with the plus four boys not wanting to rub shoulders with the 8's or Aero types! Is it snobbish, or a feeling of superiority that drives them to restrict who they care to share their leisure time with?

Should the tendency be towards 'exclusive' groups, then Mary, Kelvin and Chris may well care to arrange to eat at a railway station buffet!

Personally I am all in favour of universal sufferage, and feel a mass open air picnic at Donington or Silverstone would allow all classes to co-mingle in
a spirit of Bon Homme, thus promoting 'World Peace' and love of fellow man (in the context of 'mankind', not an attempt to exclude the fair sex or Mary) (Oops! There I go again).

Your mention of a pantomime Jack, is inspired as why not forego lunch and all attend a suitable Christmas pantomime? How jolly that would be.

We must hope that the Embersons do not catch sight of this particular item as they will undoubtedly prefer to organise a beach party on some sun drenched stretch of sand at a fashionable Mediterranean resort, which might prove somewhat costly for the more impecunious amongst us, well me anyway, but as I will almost certainly not rate an invitation, what does it matter?

Whatever the final outcome it is always nice to have a photographic record of these affairs, so .....................................?
