Hallo All,
As a response on Mark Shears reply about the question: shall we go on with the Brakehorsepower website, I made a small announcement in the Jan/ February issue of Miscellany. To be precise, the MHR-news column! The suggestion Mark did, to make it part of the historic Register, means that it will under the wings of the Morgan Sports Car Club. There is nothing wrong with that from my point of view, but what are the thoughts of the club. On top of that what are your thoughts?
At the moment the maximum number of words that can be use for 1 news column is 2500. The number of registered older Morgans is 1194. Every month I try to give attention to all those kind people who contact me. Sometimes with a reply, sometimes with a new item. Motor sport in general isn't often an subject. Sometimes an announcement that has to do with historical motorsport stories, but that's it. It depends on your ideas and the possibilities the club offers.
Please, let me know your thoughts, Machiel.

Sad to hear all this.
The site was both well set up and highly interesting, particularly to those of us with life long interest in Morgan’s.
I must say I do worry about Morgan sites without the proper controls and general safeguards.
In this day and age unfortunately we do have to worry about who is requesting our information.
Might I suggest something legally and properly backed by the Morgan Company direct to ensure proper compliance.
I have twice before asked to help find a Morgan owners address and other details about his car, and have refused.
Brakehorsepower is a very sound setup which I find I can rely on.
BEWARE OF OTHER SITES REQUESTING personal information!
Seasons greetings.

Sorry to be slow slow to make a contribution to the discussion on the future of BHP - only excuse is that we were in Western Australia for most of November and I tend to log into BHP much more during the race season.
I would personally be very sad to see the demise of BHP. It provides an excellent way of communication between Morgan enthusiasts with a racing bias. I have certainly learnt a lot through the posts on BHP - making occasional contributions.
The WhatsApp group is very useful in its immediacy - someone posts and it pings onto your phone and grabs your attention. But a few days later and that comment is buried by others. On BHP, the posts can be longer and the knowledge stays accessible.
In my opinion, it would be wonderful if both BHP and WhatsApp could thrive and promote each other. It should not be a choice between the two.
BHP may be a bit dated in its style but isn't that the charm of Morgan cars as well? I think BHP needs to be promoted at every opportunity via the MSCC as well as via the Morgan Challenge website.
I pay tribute to those who set up and maintain the BHP forum and had not appreciated it was "privately" funded. Sincere thanks. Surely funding could be obtained from somewhere within the Morgan fraternity - a Morgan dealer, a supplier, Morgan itself or the Challenge. There is space on the top bar for a sponsor name!
Would be a sad day to let the BHP site disappear with all the historic information it contains and can contain going forward.

Hallo,
Maybe is it an idea to make it part of the MSCC-website. You can log in with your MSCC membership password.
Machiel.
