If you have a +4 bent (or leaning) you are invited to join the +4 race set for post Xmas drinks at the Leathern Bottle, Lewknor on Saturday 7th January 2012. We'll be getting the beers in from mid day.
If you think you will be coming along, please drop a note here so I can warn the landlord.
Certain people have suggested that an elderly gentleman of my acquaintance might be welcome at the gathering, however, before committing himself he wondered about the sort of event it would be. For instance;
The start time mid day
Finishing time before dusk
Entry fee smiling face
Will he have to buy his own drinks the good Lord will provide
What should he wear comedy Christmas sweater/tie/hat/socks/slippers
Will the crowd get rowdy depending on answer above
Is a CRB check required maybe FIA compliance
Would he indeed be welcome in the first place very
Will the press be there. he has been asked!
Due to his great age and penurious state he is anxious not to put himself or his bank balance at risk.
Thank you Mark and Mod, I will pass on your remarks to the Old Boy and perhaps if the weather is clement, petrol comes down to half-a crown a gallon, his mother gives permission and the doctor says he can risk it, he might well feel well enough to make the journey.
Should he turn up please make sure he takes his medication, and is heading South when he leaves.
Cheers,
Young Bob.
Actually, looking at the map make that heading North!

Hope it isn't too late but John and I would like to join all of you on the 7th if that would be OK. We weren't sure if we could make it but now that John has also realised that he can cycle over to the Leathern Bottle and get a lift back with me then it looks a definite possibility. Good training for The Hammer cycle event in Devon on April Fools day that John has entered for (only 135 kilometers)! Now we just have to decide whether we come in the Plus 4 4 seater as John is convinced that his bike will fit easily in the back for the return journey. Is he right?
