Autosport quiz?
As there are a three weeks before the next race at Oulton I thought someone (Bob?) would like a brain teaser to while away those gin and tonic moments enjoying our belated summer... :) In this week's Autosport, perhaps without realising it, they set a very interesting quiz when they stated on page 3...

Bumblebee is a trademarked Chevy !?!
Just seen in a US magazine - In Scottsdale in January they were selling Bumblebee - but not the one we know and love on track in the Challenge - this one is apparently "Bumblebee™, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS sci-fi fans will recognize from Transformers 4: Age of Extinction." I must confess...

Re: Web site updates 2016
Re Castle Combe race report - My contributions to "pedant's corner"... [-X Tim Parsons won Class R in both the championship and non-championship races - chased hard by Kelvin (particularly in the dry race). I should know - I couldn't keep up! :( And I feel mention should also be made of St...

Re: Puzzle for Simon
Century celebrations both... =D> Monaco 1977 was the Cosworth DFV's 100th GP victory... and Kovalainen's win in Hungary 2008 made hiom the 100th different driver to win a GP... Being a Northampton lad and going to school with Roger Duckworth (Keith's son) the first part of your question was particul...

Re: Puzzle for Simon
Thank you for your kind words!
Please don't delve too deep - as I am trying to finish off our Chelsea Flower Show design!
But your brain teasers are a pleasant distraction...
Best wishes

Re: Puzzle for Simon
Dear Bob I think you do yourself a disservice! I believe the answer to both options is Mercedes... Monza 1955 was a Fangio win for the Mercedes factory team (with a Mercedes engine obviously), their last GP race in that era. Brazil 1994 was the first time Sauber ran as a factory-backed Merced...

Re: Puzzle for Simon
Now I wish I had stuck to setting you the questions Bob!
I think I have worked out the first answer - jointly Jim Clark and Sebastian Vettel... but I cannot think of any link between the two races. Hope someone else can come up trumps as I am intrigued...

I am obviously making these too easy for you Bob...
Maybe I should stick to answering rather than trying to ask questions!

Re: Goodwood Members Meeting This Weekend
Another brain teaser for Bob? :?: Having seen the scary footage of Stephen Bond's Lotus disappearing into the spectator tunnel at Goodwood, can you name another occasion when a Grand Prix car (or at least the driver and his survival cell) ended up in a pedestrian tunnel? I can think of one memorable...

Re: Goodwood Members Meeting This Weekend
Watching from Madgwick we were able to fully appreciate Tony's driving technique of leaning right by putting his left foot on the paseenger seat! The best race of the day. Such a shame about the delays and accidents. Just hope the CanAm driver is not badly hurt or worse... [-o<

Re: One for Bob or...
And the winner is - Sir Robert Bull =D> =D> =D> I didn't believe it when I first saw the stat - but Denny Hulme took only 26 races to secure his world championship - 6 in 1965, 9 in 1966 and 11 in 1967 before finishing 3rd behind Jim Clark and team mate/boss Sir Jack to clinch his title in Mexico. T...
