Re: Holiday reading

Having cycled the Col du Solour to Col d'Aubisque road I can confirm that it deserves its reputation as the "Circle of Death". This is why cyclists become known as "suicyclists" unless you are like me and chicken out at about 45mph downhill unlike the professionals who can get up...

Re: Wet at SPA

Thanks Tony, for these "happy" memories.......... BillW actually had a camera in the car for the race but apparently all you can "see" at the start is a completely foggy white-out with some idiot (me) with no hands on the wheel trying to wipe the windows!!

Re: Spa 6 Hours 2010

Tryed Rain-xing my contact lenses as firmly told by Brian not to use windscreen wiper as it scratches perspex screen but was so fogged up in the rain I don't even think I saw Tony go past me......... Have agreed with Simon that we need to invent some SLR demisting equipment although I believe Keith ...

Re: Techniques Trophy

Yes, well done Techniques, a great race and a nice selection of cars. The weather sorted out the men from the boys & I know which camp I fell in although unwittingly Keith solved my problem of what to do when the SLR windows completely mist up & you can't see which corner you're at let alone...

Hi Bob, I've read your e-mail a number of times but cannot detect even the slightest hint of mickey taking............am I losing my powers of perception?? More seriously, thanks very much for your good wishes and I wholeheartedly agree with your view that everyone should have got a cup - Catherine,...

RU at Le Mans Classic 2010

Firstly, I wanted to thank everyone for all the good wishes and congratulations that have been sent for the unbelievable good fortune of RU finishing 1st overall in the Performance Index of Plateau 4 at Le Mans. Secondly, I should apologise for taking a while to make this posting. Immediately after ...

Re: Booklands Double Twelve 5-6 June 2010

John,

The trouble with the summer months is that there are too many motoring events to choose from (unlike the winter) so whilst CAB remains at home unable to get to Brooklands I will be at Monza. If only Morgan drivers could be in two places at once #-o

Re: SLR Fest 16th May Silverstone

I must say that it was an honour & privilege to have taken part in this unique event. We were all worried that Simon & Rick wouldn't make it when they had engine problems during testing & qualifying but then the vagaries of motor racing occurred during the race when they were fine but we...

Re: TT Rep 'CAB 652'

Not that I would know :^o but "allegedly" CAB now back in the UK and residing at Melvyn's emporium (he is still drying his eyes after shedding a tear on being reacquainted after 31 years) so, all are welcome to go and view her there. Shame that I'll be away for the Brooklands meeting in Ju...

Kelvin,

It's always sad to hear of a Morgan getting damaged but at least it sounds as though you are okay.

Hope to see you soon,

Re: After The Techniques Trophy .....

Yes, perhaps there should be a "JE +4 Racing Team"? Anyway, you & Bob are quite astute as in my efforts to beat the legendary Jack at some form of racing I am in training for the Tour of Dartmoor on the 26th September. As recently noted in the press I'm loading up on beetroot juice whi...

Re: Silverstone Classic 24-26th July

John,

I'll be there in the Pre '63 GT race in RU with Bill Wykeham. Sounds fun that there'll be a "public scrutineering" for all the cars in this race to check for historical authenticity. I know that Simon will be there too in his SLR in the Masters race.

Cheers,
