Re: 'Lawrence " plus 8 1969

It was seemingly bid to £40,000 Peter.

But you would have to add 15% commission to that so £46,000.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: original LawrenceTunes

Hi Andy, Hope you are well and look forward to seeing you again soon. Dion was racing in The Gentleman Drivers Pre 66 Race which was one of the support races to the Six Hours. It looks like he had a fantastic close race against Simon Orebi Gann in his Plus 4 and the results show that Simon was 20th ...

Plus 4 competition parts for sale

Garage clear out of Plus 4 competition parts that are surplus to requirements after recommissioning my Plus 4 race car and due to losing garage space at the end of October. I haven't put any prices on them as the replacement costs are so ridiculously high (how about £5200.00 incl. VAT for a new stee...

Re: TOK 258 Wins Spa 6-Hours 2024

Yes it was indeed very exciting with TOK posting purple ie. fastest laps towards the finish. Also racing in the 6 Hours was fellow historic Morgan racing driver Simon King. He wasn't in his Plus 4 Super Sports this time but sharing a Ford Galaxie 500XL with Richard Owen and David Cooke. They finishe...

Re: Goodwood Revival 2024

Sadly not this year Leigh - horses have got in the way!

But Jonny will be there on Friday too.

Good to see Charles has got an entry with 'Old TOK'.

Re: 1964 Plus 4 Plus

Thanks for the heads up Peter.

Disappointing for the vendors but I see the 'buy it now' prices are quite punchy...

I wonder what they got bid to...?

Cheers,

Re: original LawrenceTunes

Hi Larry,

There are only three still racing that I can immediately think of...

TOK 258 owned by Keith Ahlers.

PGP 123 'Choc Ices' owned by Kevin Kivlochlan

XRX 1 owned by Dion Kremer (this car has not been raced for some years now.)

Can you suggest any more...?

Cheers,

Mark

Very sorry to hear that you won't be at BDC Silverstone Bob. It won't be the same without you. You are part of the fixtures and fittings...! If you do feel up to it I will certainly have a spare ticket for you. Cheers, Mark PS. I will be racing the 1952 Morgan Plus 4 Flat Rad you may have seen racin...

Re: coventry climax query

Hi Machiel, OWP has a great history post Coventry Climax engine too. The factory supplied and uprated the TR engine in March/April 1957 and that year OWP competed at Goodwood including the Members Meeting four times. Of interest to us racing in modern times John Looker came first in the Marque sport...

Re: coventry climax query

Hi Larry, I am the current custodian of a 1955 Plus 4 that was originally owned and raced by John Looker and registered OWP 38. It originally left the factory with a Vanguard engine (V697) on May 27th and by July 9th John was racing it in the 750 MC's Six Hour Relay race with one of the three Morgan...

Re: JHX142B

Not really surprised to see JHX didn't sell... Although a high bid of $87,500 / c. £70,000 was a bit light for any late 50's /60's Plus 4 race car with FIA papers, Mass engine, Billy box and historic race prep. However despite the lovely history file that comes with the car which I have had the plea...

Re: VCR has to go!

Hi Mary, Yes my Morgan KUY 475 and also 474 and 476 were originally fitted with Vanguard engines in early 1952. As was KUY 387 whose chassis number was between mine and KUY 474. When the three Plus Fours (KUY 475, 474 and 476) were entered by Standard Triumph in that years Rallye des Alpes they were...

Re: VCR has to go!

Hi Mary,

Just clicked on your link to the sale of VCR.

Interesting to see the engine number was TS1ME

The original engine in my 1952 ex: works car KUY 475 was originally VT01ME

Cheers

Re: Retirement

Happy retirement Alan...

I won't ask after how many years...?!

I hope you will still come and watch and support us racing.

I know FISCAR have given you an open invitation and it would be good to see you at other meetings too.

Keep in touch.

Cheers,

Mark
